The History of Hauser Hill Farms

Picture
Picture
In 1950, Clarence G. married Marie Keating and they had three children, John, George and Theresa, all of whom still have ties to the farm. When Clarence passed away in 1986, Marie was instrumental in keeping the farm tradition alive.

The farm is a true family affair, enlisting help from countless nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors. John is the farmer and runs the day to day operation. Theresa manages the farm stand, Marie still works at the stand occasionally, while also making homemade jams, jellies and the best pies you’d ever want to eat!  John’s wife, Carolyn, or Midge as she’s known, teaches middle school Spanish, and manages the farmers’ markets from May to November, as well as serving as President of the Middlesex County Board of Agriculture.

John also serves as the President of Browntown Bus Service, Inc., which was founded by his father in the 1950’s. John serves the Agricultural community in many capacities. He is a Farm Bureau Director for Middlesex County, Secretary and Past President of the Middlesex County Board of Agriculture, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Middlesex County Fair Association, Past President of the NJ Direct Marketing Association, Past President of the New Jersey Horticultural Society, and the Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of the Tri-County Coop. He is a graduate of Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.
